New Zealand secured a dominant victory over Pakistan, clinching the match by 8 wickets with 10 overs to spare. This triumph sealed the five-match T20I series in favor of the Kiwis, concluding with a commanding 4-1 result.
In response to the modest target, New Zealand started aggressively, piling up 92 runs in the Powerplay. Tim Seifert, in exceptional form throughout the series, led the charge with an explosive knock of 97 off 38 including 10 Sixes and 6 Fours. Finn Allen also provided valuable support throughout the series.
Pakistan’s bowlers found it difficult to contain the relentless Kiwi batting assault, with Sufiyan Muqeem being the lone standout performer, claiming two wickets while maintaining a tight economy. With the pitch favoring the batters, Pakistan’s 128 was never enough to challenge the hosts, who comfortably chased it within 10 overs.
Earlier in the match, Pakistan managed to post 128 runs in 20 overs, thanks to a resilient half-century from skipper Salman Ali Agha as he smashed 51 off 39. Shadab Khan also made a valuable contribution of 28, but the rest of the batting lineup struggled to build partnerships.
New Zealand’s bowling attack was led by James Neesham, who put on a brilliant display, claiming five wickets and finishing with outstanding figures of 5-22. Jacob Duffy also contributed by taking two wickets, while Ben Sears and Ish Sodhi grabbed one each.
