A crushing blow for Lucknow Super Giants, who have now been officially eliminated from the playoff race, right in front of their home crowd. Realistically, they never quite looked capable of defending their total.

With this loss, they become the fifth team to be knocked out of this IPL season, leaving Delhi Capitals and Mumbai Indians to fight for the final playoff spot in their upcoming clash on May 21st. Sunrisers Hyderabad, on the other hand, chased down a 200+ target with ease—a feat they’ve achieved multiple times this season despite their inconsistent form. LSG never looked like posing a real threat during SRH’s chase.

The chase for SRH began with a hiccup as Atharva Taide, their Impact Player, got out early. But any hopes LSG had of applying pressure vanished quickly. Ishan Kishan and Abhishek Sharma launched a fierce counterattack, never letting the bowlers settle. Sharma was particularly aggressive, making full use of the Powerplay to race to 71/1 in just six overs, setting the tone early and putting LSG on the back foot.

SRH maintained their grip on the chase with Ishan Kishan and Abhishek Sharma playing fearlessly. Their stroke play was aggressive yet calculated, keeping the run flow intact. When Digvesh Singh dismissed Sharma in a critical moment, SRH didn’t falter—instead, they shifted gears into a more stable mode with Kishan and Klaasen forming a steady partnership. They calmly guided the innings forward, with more than half the required runs already scored when they reached the halfway point.

Though SRH lost Ishan Kishan after a steady 41-run partnership with Klaasen, their incoming batters took a smart and measured approach. They avoided risky shots and focused on rotating the strike to maintain control. Kamindu Mendis and Klaasen handled the chase with precision, keeping SRH in command.

Ultimately, Aniket Verma and Nitish Kumar Reddy guided Hyderabad past the finish line, sealing the win with 10 deliveries to spare.

LSG VS SRH: 1st Inning

Earlier in the game, LSG’s openers began aggressively, aiming to dominate from the outset. Mitchell Marsh made the most of a couple of early chances to post a solid half-century, while Aiden Markram played with freedom and reached his own fifty. Their opening partnership gave LSG a strong start, but SRH struck back in the middle overs with timely wickets.

When LSG’s innings began to lose steam, Nicholas Pooran reignited the momentum with a quick-fire 45 off 26. The real game-changer was the final over, where Nitish Kumar Reddy’s costly 20 runs allowed LSG to surpass the 200-run mark, though it proved insufficient.

QG VS IU: Gladiators Dismantle United in 109-Run Rout

QG VS IU: Mohammad Amir struck early with three quick wickets as Quetta Gladiators thrashed Islamabad United by a commanding 109-run margin at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium on Wednesday.

Quetta Gladiators sealed an emphatic 109-run win in a completely one-sided contest. Islamabad’s attempt to chase down a target exceeding 260 collapsed quickly, with the team reeling at 53/5 within six overs. Mohammad Wasim’s incisive bowling, combined with sharp fielding, shattered Islamabad’s hopes early on.

Despite some fightback from Muhammad Shahzad (24), Ben Dwarshuis (31), and Imad Wasim (56), Islamabad United couldn’t stabilize their innings.

As wickets kept falling, the pressure mounted, and their chase fell apart. Quetta’s bowlers executed their plans perfectly, playing a key role in the comprehensive win.

For Quetta, Mohammad Amir delivered a fiery opening spell that rattled Islamabad’s top order, grabbing three wickets in just two overs. His early breakthroughs set the tone for Quetta’s disciplined and effective bowling unit. The Gladiators stuck to tight lines and lengths, reaping the rewards and securing a victory that keeps them on top of the standings.

QG VS IU: 1st Inning

Earlier in the game, Quetta Gladiators got off to a blazing start, with Saud Shakeel laying a strong foundation. Rilee Rossouw and Hasan Nawaz followed up with explosive centuries, as Hassan’s unbeaten 100 and Rossouw’s fiery 104 powered QG to score the highest ever total in PSL history, steering Quetta to a dominant total 263.

Islamabad’s bowling unit struggled throughout the innings, conceding over 10 runs per over and failing to build any pressure on the opposition. While Imad Wasim and Naseem Shah managed to claim a wicket each, their efforts weren’t enough to stem the flow of runs.

Peshawar Zalmi secured a dominant victory, making it two wins in a row — a crucial boost at this point in the tournament.

A big positive was Saim Ayub’s return to form; he paced his innings well before accelerating, helping the team score nearly half the required runs during the Powerplay. Ayub was dismissed for 49, and Max Bryant finished things off in style with an unbeaten 38 off 20 balls, guiding Peshawar Zalmi to victory with 7 overs to spare.

With this win, Peshawar Zalmi have now defeated Multan Sultans twice this season, significantly increasing their net run rate.

For Multan, Shahid Aziz claimed two wickets and David Willey chipped in with one, while the rest of the bowling unit went wicketless.

PZ VS MS: 1st Inning

It’s now five consecutive losses for the Multan Sultans, as their season continues to fall apart. Even though they won the toss, almost nothing went their way afterward.

Peshawar Zalmi were in control right from the beginning. Multan’s batting lineup struggled to build any rhythm, frequently losing wickets. Though their top four batters got starts, none of them were able to convert it into a meaningful inning, as Shai Hope was the top scorer with 23 off 21 balls.

However, only a couple of batters managed to reach the 20s, while most failed to get into double figures, resulting in the team crawling to a modest total of just 108.

For Peshawar, Ahmed Daniyal led the bowling attack with three wickets, while Luke Wood and Maaz Sadaqat grabbed two apiece. The remaining bowlers chipped in with a wicket each.

The Kolkata Knight Riders edged past Rajasthan Royals by a single run in a nerve-shredding finish. With just three needed off the last ball, Vaibhav Arora held his composure and delivered under pressure, sealing a thrilling victory for KKR. For the Royals, it was heartbreak once more—a game within their grasp that cruelly slipped away in the dying moments.

RR’s innings began in disaster as they lost Vaibhav Sooryavanshi early. Yashasvi Jaiswal and Riyan Parag then stitched together a calm and steady partnership to stabilize the innings. But Jaiswal’s dismissal sparked a dramatic collapse, with the Royals crashing from 66/2 to 71/5—handing the momentum right back to Kolkata.

Riyan Parag, alongside Shimron Hetmyer, steered Rajasthan Royals steadily through a pressure-filled middle phase with calculated aggression. The turning point came when Parag unleashed a brutal assault on Moeen Ali, smashing five sixes in one over and injecting new life into the chase.

With both batters set, RR appeared firmly on track for a memorable win. However, their dismissals at critical moments derailed the momentum, and despite Parag’s sensational 95 off just 45 deliveries, his valiant effort ended in heartbreak.

KKR VS RR: final moments

The match hung in the balance till the final ball, with Jofra Archer and Shubham Dubey nearly pulling off a miracle. Dubey’s late fireworks cut the equation from 22 needed off 6 to just 3 from the last ball. But the dream was dashed as Archer was run out while attempting a desperate second run, falling inches short and leaving RR heartbroken in a gut-wrenching finish.

KKR VS RR: 1st Inning

Earlier in the day, KKR posted an impressive total, powered by a blazing half-century from Andre Russell. The top order provided a solid foundation, while Rinku Singh’s explosive cameo of 19 off just 6 balls gave the innings a final flourish.

For RR, Wanindu Hasaranga and Akash Madhwal picked up one wicket each, the rest of the Rajasthan bowling unit faltered during the death overs, leaking runs that proved costly in the end.

Gujarat Titans delivered a strong performance, bouncing back impressively after failing to defend 209 against Rajasthan Royals. They dominated Sunrisers Hyderabad across batting, bowling, and fielding departments.

This defeat marks SRH’s eighth loss of the season, putting their playoff hopes in serious jeopardy. Although they can still reach a maximum of 14 points, they must now win every remaining game. They are currently tied with CSK and RR — both already out — in terms of total defeats.

Sunrisers’ openers, Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma, came out swinging, showing no hesitation in taking on GT’s fast bowlers. The opening duo had built a dangerous stand until Prasidh Krishna finally broke through, assisted by a brilliant diving catch from Rashid Khan. Even after losing that key wicket, SRH ended the powerplay on a strong note at 57/1.

As soon as the powerplay ended, GT’s bowlers tightened their grip on the match. SRH could only muster 29 runs in the next four overs, with just two sixes and a single four. They also lost Ishan Kishan during this stretch, and their early batting momentum began to fade quickly.

Although Abhishek Sharma fought hard to keep the scoreboard moving, SRH’s lack of scoring in the middle overs came back to bite them. The turning point came when both Abhishek and the explosive Klaasen fell in quick succession, dashing any remaining hopes.

Prasidh Krishna and Mohammed Siraj returned to deliver game-changing spells, ripping through the middle order and taking two wickets each. From a strong position at 139/2, SRH dramatically collapsed to 145/6, effectively ending their chase for 186/6.

GT VS SRH: 1st Inning

Earlier in the match, Gujarat Titans’ reliable opening duo got off to a blazing start, with Sai Sudharsan and Gill effortlessly dispatching SRH’s bowlers to all parts of the ground. Their opening stand of 87 laid a strong platform before Jos Buttler joined Gill and added another 62 runs, taking complete control during the middle overs.

Even after Gill’s dismissal for 76, Buttler continued to find the boundaries regularly. With a few handy contributions down the order, Titans posted a commanding total of 224. The top three batters were the main contributors, collectively scoring 188 runs, including half-centuries from both Gill and Buttler.

SRH’s bowlers struggled throughout the inning, and their sloppy fielding only made matters worse. Jaydev Unadkat was the only standout, claiming three wickets — all in the final over of the innings.

Multan Sultans have now suffered their seventh defeat this season—a loss that further complicates their path to the top four. They failed to show up in the run chase, with yet another collapse in the middle order.

Mohammad Rizwan (0) and Usman Khan (1) were dismissed cheaply, while the core of their lineup—Kamran Ghulam, Iftikhar Ahmed, Michael Bracewell, and David Willey—offered little resistance but no one managed to score a fifty or anchor the innings.

In the end, Chris Jordan remained unbeaten on 14, while Ubaid Shah also contributed 14 runs. However, Multan Sultans were bowled out for just 117, suffering yet another heavy defeat—this time by a margin of 87 runs.

For Kings, they will be absolutely thrilled with this performance—just what they needed after the close loss to the Gladiators.

With a solid total on the board, their pacers struck early, grabbing three wickets in the Powerplay to seize control. Then the spinners took control as Khushdil Shah and Mohammad Nabi combined for five wickets, effortlessly tearing through Multan’s batting lineup.

It was a clinical and dominant display by the Kings, earning them two valuable points in the playoff race. Beyond the win, the significant boost to their net run rate could prove vital in the long run.

KK Vs MS: 1st Inning

Earlier in the game, Karachi opted to bat first—a decision that paid off as they got off to an aggressive start with Tim Seifert scoring 22 and David Warner adding 30 in the powerplay.

After that, James Vince took charge at the crease, playing a crucial knock of 65. While Omair Yousuf departed early for just 1, Irfan Khan Niazi provided solid support with a steady 40 off 33 balls.

Following Niazi’s dismissal, Khushdil Shah stepped in and delivered a blistering cameo, remaining unbeaten on 33 off just 13 balls, which included three sixes and two fours. His explosive finish, along with earlier contributions, propelled the Kings to a strong total of 204.

For the Sultans, Ubaid Shah claimed two wickets, while David Willey and Curtis Campher chipped in with one each.

Chasing a challenging 210, Rajasthan Royals turned the match into a complete rout. With the brilliance of young sensation Vaibhav Suryavanshi and star opener Yashasvi Jaiswal, RR pulled off a stunning, dominant win. Snapping a five-match losing streak in style, the Royals secured an 8-wicket victory, reigniting their playoff hopes with a thrilling performance.

Facing a daunting target, Rajasthan Royals needed an explosive start, and the youthful duo of Yashasvi Jaiswal and Vaibhav Suryavanshi stunningly rose to the occasion. They dismantled Gujarat Titans’ bowling during the Powerplay, sending boundaries flying and thrilling the crowd.

Vaibhav Suryavanshi smashed his maiden IPL fifty in just 17 balls, becoming the youngest to achieve the feat in league history. Their blistering assault continued as the pair racked up 87 runs in the Powerplay, setting a perfect launchpad for what turned into a memorable run chase.

Vaibhav Suryavanshi didn’t let up once he got going, blazing his way to a sensational maiden IPL century in just 35 balls — rewriting history as the youngest centurion in the league. Meanwhile, Yashasvi Jaiswal composed a fine half-century of his own.

Although Prasidh Krishna eventually dismissed the young star. Then, the game had been firmly seized. Rashid Khan gave GT a brief moment of hope by taking another wicket, but Riyan Parag and Yashasvi Jaiswal calmly steered Rajasthan Royals to victory, sealing the chase with a comfortable 25 balls to spare.

It was a forgettable outing with the ball for the Gujarat Titans. With skipper Shubman Gill sidelined due to a back spasm, Rashid Khan had to take charge for the second innings, but GT never really found their rhythm.

A turning point came early when Jos Buttler dropped Yashasvi Jaiswal on just his second ball — a costly error that came back to haunt them. From there, RR’s batters punished the Titans relentlessly. Apart from Rashid Khan, no GT bowler could stem the flow of runs. This heavy loss also impacts GT’s playoff chances, adding more pressure as the tournament heads into its crucial final stages.

RR VS GT: 1st Inning

Earlier in the match, Gujarat Titans once again flexed their batting muscles, with their top three firing together to post a total well beyond 200. Sai Sudharsan and Shubman Gill laid a solid foundation with a fluent 93-run partnership. Gill and Jos Buttler then accelerated through the middle overs to ensure the strong start wasn’t wasted.

Although Gill eventually fell after a classy 84, Buttler maintained the momentum, launching a late onslaught to complete his fifty and propel GT to a strong 209.

On the other side, Rajasthan Royals struggled — their fielding was sloppy, and the bowling lacked venom. Only Maheesh Theekshana stood out, claiming two wickets. While Sandeep Sharma and Jofra Archer managed to claim a wicket each.

With this stunning run chase, Royal Challengers Bengaluru made history in Delhi by becoming the first IPL team ever to win six consecutive away matches. The victory not only earned them two points but also propelled them to the top of the points table, reaching 14 points this season.

RCB’s innings had a disastrous start, crashing to 35/3 during the Powerplay as DC’s bowlers landed early blows. Although Jacob Bethell showed brief resistance, his dismissal, followed quickly by the wickets of Padikkal and Patidar, pushed RCB deeper into trouble.

Axar Patel’s tight early spell, combined with Karun Nair’s brilliant fielding — including a stunning catch and a sharp run-out which left RCB struggling for momentum in the opening phase.

Despite the early setbacks, Virat Kohli adjusted brilliantly, assuming the anchor’s role. He received valuable support from Krunal Pandya, and although the duo initially found it tough to break DC’s hold, they gradually steadied the ship.

When RCB’s chase seemed to be losing steam, Krunal Pandya sparked a turnaround with aggressive and calculated stroke play, targeting specific bowlers to regain momentum. Kohli, the master strategist, played a brilliant supporting role, keeping the innings steady.

Both batters completed well-deserved fifties, with Kohli securing his sixth fifty of the season, emphasizing his consistency. From a precarious 26/3, Kohli and Krunal stitched together a crucial 119-run stand for the fourth wicket, swinging the momentum entirely towards RCB.

Though Kohli was dismissed for 51 during the latter phase, he had already anchored RCB close to the win. Tim David needed just five deliveries to finish the job and guide the team over the line.

DC VS RCB: 1st Inning

Earlier in the match, Royal Challengers Bengaluru asked Delhi Capitals to bat first. On a tricky, two-paced pitch, DC had a rocky start, with du Plessis finding it tough to pick up the scoring rate. Though KL Rahul chipped in with a handy 41, his dismissal came at a crucial time for RCB.

Later, Tristan Stubbs unleashed a late surge, helping DC cross the 160-run mark — but it ultimately fell short of a competitive total.

For RCB, Bhuvneshwar Kumar showcased his bowling brilliance, grabbing an impressive three-wicket haul, while Josh Hazlewood also chipped in with a couple of wickets.

MI Creates History as they become the First Team in IPL History to Reach 150 Wins, Surpassing Chennai Super Kings’ 140 Victories. It was also MI’s fifth consecutive home win under Hardik Pandya’s leadership this season, taking their tally to four wins in five games at Wankhede.

Although Mumbai temporarily climbed to second place, their position could shift by the day’s end depending on the outcome of the DC vs RCB match, where the winner would move up to 14 points and push MI down to third.

Despite losing the toss and being asked to bat, Mumbai Indians delivered a near-flawless performance. Ryan Rickelton provided a solid start, followed by Suryakumar Yadav, who steered the middle phase.

Both players notched up half-centuries, and handy contributions in the latter stages lifted MI past 200, setting a total of 215. Their bowlers then backed up the batting effort brilliantly, maintaining control throughout apart from a short spell during the Powerplay.

Bumrah and Boult Steal the Show

Jasprit Bumrah, delivering pinpoint yorkers, claimed four wickets, while Trent Boult grabbed three. During the match, Bumrah became MI’s all-time highest wicket-taker in the IPL, and Boult celebrated his 50th wicket for the franchise. Adding to the fireworks, Will Jacks chipped in with two wickets, proving to be much more than just a part-time option, boasting an impressive record of 5 wickets at an average of 15.6 and an economy of 7.09.

Toss Decision Backfires for LSG

Earlier in the game, opting to bowl first may have been a misstep for the Lucknow Super Giants. Under the intense Mumbai sun, pitches tend to crack and slow down as the afternoon progresses.

LSG struggled for early breakthroughs as MI batters, especially Rohit Sharma, made them work hard. Only five bowlers were rotated, and pressure mounted with boundaries scarce.

In their chase, Mitchell Marsh (34), Nicholas Pooran (27), and Ayush Badoni (35) showed some resistance, reaching 103/3 at the halfway point, but Marsh’s dismissal triggered a collapse. Ultimately, four batters got starts but failed to convert, a key difference between the two teams.

Bengaluru have pulled off an astonishing escape, turning what looked like a certain loss into a thrilling win. With the home crowd at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium going wild, RCB have finally registered a much-needed win on home turf. It’s heartbreaking for Rajasthan Royals, who can’t seem to close out games lately and appear to be struggling to find wins from any position.

“Clutch” perfectly describes RCB’s dramatic victory tonight. Despite putting up a decent total, they were under heavy fire from RR’s top-order batters during the Powerplay and beyond, as the visitors racked up 110 runs in just 9 overs.

But once the spin duo of Suyash Sharma and Krunal Pandya took charge, the momentum started to shift. RCB clawed their way back. A late scare came when Bhuvneshwar Kumar leaked 22 runs in the 18th over, giving RR a lifeline. But Josh Hazlewood stepped up under pressure, taking key wickets and conceding just one run in the 19th over, sealing the deal for the home side.

It’s now a third devastating defeat for RR in a similar fashion. This loss might be the final blow to their playoff hopes. They were cruising early at 100/0 after just 8 overs but faltered during the middle overs against spin, only to revive briefly before collapsing again.

With 17 runs needed off the final two overs and wickets still in hand, they couldn’t hold their nerve. Yashasvi Jaiswal laid a strong foundation with a 49-run knock, and Dhruv Jurel fought valiantly in the second half. But his dismissal in the 19th over proved to be the turning point of the match.

RCB VS RR: 1st Inning

Earlier in the match, Riyan Parag won the toss and opted to bowl without any hesitation. This put RCB in a familiar position. Batting first at home for the fourth consecutive time, having lost the previous three. Knowing the importance of setting a big total, they came out with intent.

After Phil Salt’s early dismissal, Virat Kohli and Devdutt Padikkal took charge, building a strong 95-run partnership. Though Rajasthan Royals managed to pull things back briefly, late fireworks from Tim David and Jitesh Sharma helped RCB cross the 200-run milestone.
