The Kolkata Knight Riders edged past Rajasthan Royals by a single run in a nerve-shredding finish. With just three needed off the last ball, Vaibhav Arora held his composure and delivered under pressure, sealing a thrilling victory for KKR. For the Royals, it was heartbreak once more—a game within their grasp that cruelly slipped away in the dying moments.
RR’s innings began in disaster as they lost Vaibhav Sooryavanshi early. Yashasvi Jaiswal and Riyan Parag then stitched together a calm and steady partnership to stabilize the innings. But Jaiswal’s dismissal sparked a dramatic collapse, with the Royals crashing from 66/2 to 71/5—handing the momentum right back to Kolkata.
Riyan Parag, alongside Shimron Hetmyer, steered Rajasthan Royals steadily through a pressure-filled middle phase with calculated aggression. The turning point came when Parag unleashed a brutal assault on Moeen Ali, smashing five sixes in one over and injecting new life into the chase.
With both batters set, RR appeared firmly on track for a memorable win. However, their dismissals at critical moments derailed the momentum, and despite Parag’s sensational 95 off just 45 deliveries, his valiant effort ended in heartbreak.
KKR VS RR: final moments
The match hung in the balance till the final ball, with Jofra Archer and Shubham Dubey nearly pulling off a miracle. Dubey’s late fireworks cut the equation from 22 needed off 6 to just 3 from the last ball. But the dream was dashed as Archer was run out while attempting a desperate second run, falling inches short and leaving RR heartbroken in a gut-wrenching finish.
KKR VS RR: 1st Inning
Earlier in the day, KKR posted an impressive total, powered by a blazing half-century from Andre Russell. The top order provided a solid foundation, while Rinku Singh’s explosive cameo of 19 off just 6 balls gave the innings a final flourish.
For RR, Wanindu Hasaranga and Akash Madhwal picked up one wicket each, the rest of the Rajasthan bowling unit faltered during the death overs, leaking runs that proved costly in the end.
