The Punjab Kings are back in form! They defeated the Super Kings, handing them their fourth consecutive loss. CSK have not chased down a target above 175 since 2021, and this time, 220 proved just out of reach. Although PBKS were sloppy in the field with four missed chances, it didn’t affect the outcome in the end.

CSK got off to a solid start, with the aggressive opening stand from the Kiwi duo—Devon Conway and Rachin Ravindra. They struck early boundaries and played with positive intent. But the momentum shifted quickly after the Powerplay, with Rachin for (36) and Captain Ruturaj for just (1) both dismissed in just six balls.

Though Conway and Dube tried to steady things, they struggled to find boundaries regularly, and the pressure kept piling up.

At one point, CSK looked like they might take control, especially after scoring 19 runs in the 14th over. But Shreyas Iyer made a smart move, bringing back Arshdeep Singh and Lockie Ferguson to regain control. They halted the run flow and pushed the required rate up. Despite a late push from MS Dhoni (27 off 12), the target remained out of reach and Super Kings lost another match by 18 runs.

For PBKS, Lockie Ferguson picked up two, while Glenn Maxwell and Yash Thakur chipped in with one wicket each.

PBKS Vs CSK: 1st Inning

Earlier in the match, PBKS won the toss, and Priyansh Arya wasted no time, launching a six off the first ball. He kept attacking relentlessly, even as wickets fell around him and brought up his maiden IPL century in just 39 balls. After his dismissal for 103, Shashank Singh (52*) and Marco Jansen (34*) chipped in to take Punjab Kings to a substantial total of 219. CSK had the Kings in trouble at 83/5 but failed to capitalize due to fielding errors and inconsistent bowling.
