QG VS IU: Mohammad Amir struck early with three quick wickets as Quetta Gladiators thrashed Islamabad United by a commanding 109-run margin at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium on Wednesday.

Quetta Gladiators sealed an emphatic 109-run win in a completely one-sided contest. Islamabad’s attempt to chase down a target exceeding 260 collapsed quickly, with the team reeling at 53/5 within six overs. Mohammad Wasim’s incisive bowling, combined with sharp fielding, shattered Islamabad’s hopes early on.
Despite some fightback from Muhammad Shahzad (24), Ben Dwarshuis (31), and Imad Wasim (56), Islamabad United couldn’t stabilize their innings.
As wickets kept falling, the pressure mounted, and their chase fell apart. Quetta’s bowlers executed their plans perfectly, playing a key role in the comprehensive win.
For Quetta, Mohammad Amir delivered a fiery opening spell that rattled Islamabad’s top order, grabbing three wickets in just two overs. His early breakthroughs set the tone for Quetta’s disciplined and effective bowling unit. The Gladiators stuck to tight lines and lengths, reaping the rewards and securing a victory that keeps them on top of the standings.
QG VS IU: 1st Inning
Earlier in the game, Quetta Gladiators got off to a blazing start, with Saud Shakeel laying a strong foundation. Rilee Rossouw and Hasan Nawaz followed up with explosive centuries, as Hassan’s unbeaten 100 and Rossouw’s fiery 104 powered QG to score the highest ever total in PSL history, steering Quetta to a dominant total 263.
Islamabad’s bowling unit struggled throughout the innings, conceding over 10 runs per over and failing to build any pressure on the opposition. While Imad Wasim and Naseem Shah managed to claim a wicket each, their efforts weren’t enough to stem the flow of runs.
